Becky Burns, CFP® – Paraplanner
Becky joined Houston Asset Management, Inc. in August 2010. After receiving her undergraduate degree from the University of Texas at Austin, she went on to earn her Masters of Science degree in Management Information Systems from the University of Houston Clear Lake. Becky joined Bob Frater's team in February 2013, and her current position with the firm is Paraplanner. She prepares the portfolio reviews, retirement projections, financial plans, and enjoys sitting in client meetings. Becky is a Registered Assistant with a Series 7 and 63 securities registration. In September 2016, she received the CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ certification
. Although not a native Texan, she can't imagine living anywhere else. Becky and her husband, Todd, have one son, Logan. She is an active member of Community of Faith and stays busy attending all of Logan’s sporting events.
Gordon Frater – Paraplanner
Gordon joined Houston Asset Management in October 2013 and holds the position of Paraplanner. His responsibilities include preparing portfolio reviews, helping the advisors conduct client meetings and implementing recommendations. He has a Series 7 and 63 securities registrations. Gordon received a Bachelor’s of Science in Economics from Arizona State University. While in college, he studied abroad at Monterrey Institute of Technology in Nueva Leon, Mexico, where he researched and defended a thesis on immigration. Prior to joining us, Gordon worked four years as a Registered Representative for MetLife in Wisconsin. He has completed the educational requirements and is now working on completing the experience requirements for the CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ certification. Gordon and his wife Kaitlin are avid fans of the Milwaukee Brewers and Green Bay Packers. Gordon enjoys home-brewing, disc golfing, and camping with friends and family in his spare time.
Paula Garza – Document Retention Specialist
Paula joined Houston Asset Management, Inc. in September of 2004. She helps maintain, scan and organize our documents and assist with office mail outs and projects. Paula was born in Mexico but became a US citizen in 2008. Paula is bilingual and mother to a son named Chris.
LaToya Green – Client Services Assistant
LaToya joined Houston Asset Management in February 2015. A native Houstonian; LaToya is an active member of The Church Without Walls in Houston, TX where she is involved in the Christian Education Ministry. She is also a proud member of The Order of Eastern Star where she enjoys participating in numerous community service events and outreach programs to uplift the community. In her free time, she enjoys reading, meditating, playing volleyball, watching football and spending time with her family.
Denise Johansen – Director of First Impressions
Denise joined Houston Asset Management, Inc. in June of 2016 as the Director of First Impressions. Originally from South Carolina, she has had the pleasure of living in the Houston area for the past twenty-five years. Denise has a background in bookkeeping for a golf management firm and a law firm. In 2013, Denise returned to work after taking time off to raise her children. She and her husband are proud parents of a son and a daughter, both college students. Denise loves spending time with her family and their miniature schnauzer.
Connie Kutac – Chief Financial Officer
Connie has been associated with the founders of HAM since September 1975. She is currently the Chief Financial Officer being responsible for all accounting and bookkeeping activities as well as processing client paperwork. Connie and her husband, Jerome, have 3 sons. In her spare time, she enjoys going to baseball games, playing board games and solving Sudoku puzzles. Her weekends are filled with family time at their ranch.
Karen Lampe – Events Coordinator
Karen is the wife of the late David Lampe, one of the founders of Houston Asset Management. She serves as Event Coordinator for both Client Appreciation events and Staff functions. She is the proud mother of Kara, Daniel and Sammy. Karen loves to travel, especially to Breckenridge, Colorado where the family gathers to enjoy time together. Karen is not registered with SagePoint Financial, Inc.
Harry Montgomery – Client Services
Harry joined Houston Asset Management, Inc. in 1999 as the Director of Client Relations for our Louisiana clients. Harry has served over 37 years in the United States Armed Forces and has a Degree in Business Administration from McNeese State University. He retired as Colonel of USARNG in 1989, but continues involvement with the Employee Support Guard and Reserves. Harry is a member and Chairman of the Fort Polk Retiree Council, member of Sulphur Rotary Club and actively volunteers for his Church. He resides in Sulphur, Louisiana with his wife Larysa.
Shannon Ruiz – Client Services for Chris Brown
Shannon joined Houston Asset Management, Inc. in February 2009. Shannon has been working in the financial services industry for the last 20 years. She is working with Christopher Brown as his assistant and servicing clients. Shannon is a Registered Assistant with a Series 6 and 63 registrations and is currently studying for more securities registration exams. In her free time, Shannon enjoys spending time with her family.
Lizette Saenz – Client Services for Bob Frater
Lizette joined Houston Asset Management, Inc. in March of 2015 and comes from a background in the Banking Industry with 19 years of experience. She has worked her way up from being a Teller, Personal Banker, then becoming an Assistant Manager. Now, she assists Bob Frater with client services. Lizette is passionate about helping clients in any way that she can and is currently studying for her securities registration. She was born in Corpus Christi with 3 siblings and is a fraternal twin. Lizette recently got engaged in October of 2014 and loves to spend time outdoors running, fishing, or hanging out with her niece and nephews. She also stays very busy with her soon to be stepdaughter, Dahlia.
Mary Silva – Insurance Services
Mary joined Houston Asset Management, Inc. in August of 1999. She is a native Houstonian who loves everything about this city. Mary handles the administration of our life insurance contracts, helps with client and office support, as well as any special needs around the office. She is also in charge of client mail outs, printing and office supply. In her time away from the office Mary loves night fishing off a pier, cooking, and spending time with friends. She has been a diehard Astros fan since 1971.
Karen Sotallaro, CRPS® – Case Designer
Karen joined Houston Asset Management in July 2016, but has over 20 years of experience in the industry. She is responsible for retirement projections and portfolio analysis. She is a Registered Assistant with the Series 7, 66 and 52 registrations and is a Chartered Retirement Plans SpecialistSM
. Karen is a graduate of Texas A&M University and holds a B.S and M.S. in Agricultural Economics. An avid Aggie fan and season ticket holder, she spends most of the fall in College Station and following the Aggies around the SEC (Southeastern Conference). In her free time, she enjoys giving back to the community and has been involved with several non-profits. She is also an active member of the Rotary Club of Houston and volunteer of the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo.
Kristian Taylor, CFP® – Chief Operating Officer and Chief Compliance Officer
Kristian is the Chief Operating Officer, responsible for overseeing the operations of HAM. Also, as the Chief Compliance Officer of Houston Asset Management, she supervises the advisors and their staff, and ensures that the office is compliant with all government regulations. Kristian started with HAM as Bob Frater's assistant in November 2001. At that time, she helped Bob with financial plans, client reports and communications. She is a Registered Representative with Series 6, 7, 24, 53, 63 and 65 securities registrations, and received the CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™certification in 2011. Kristian has a Bachelor of Business Administration in Finance and Marketing from the University of Houston. She is a member of the Financial Planning Association, an ex-competitive soccer player, wife and mother to two sons. Although her sons did not choose to play soccer, Kristian stays supportive and involved with her son's baseball team. Jacque Turner holds the position of Client Services/Relations Administrative Assistant to Bob Hampton and joined the Houston Asset Management team in April 2011 when the firms merged. She has been working in the financial industry as Bob’s assistant for the last 22 years. Jacque is formerly from Corpus Christi, Texas but now resides in Stafford. She enjoys spending time with friends, motorcycle riding, fishing, working out at the gym, walking on the beach, and learning to play golf. She is mother to a son named Chris.
Evelin Valenzuela – Client Services for Richard Hollis and Rich Welsh
Evelin joined Houston Asset Management in April 2011 as the assistant to both Richard Hollis and Rich Welsh. She previously worked for Mr. Hampton for 5 years doing office duties, bookkeeping, and servicing clients. She is attending Houston Community College, where she completed two years, in pursuit of her Bachelor’s degree. She is married, and is mother to 3 children. Her weekends are always full of different activities with her children. They love to have family and friends over to enjoy barbequing and swimming in their pool. She comes from a big family and is always surrounded by family members, especially in the summer.
