We will host our next Social Security Workshop on Wednesday, September 12th at 10AM. Elaine Simmons will return as our guest speaker. For 34 years, she has worked all technical levels at the Social Security Administration. Using true-life stories, Elaine will entertain us while explaining complex Social Security laws in a format that is easily understood by all.
On Wednesday October 10th at 10AM, we will have author Barry LaValley present a Retirement Workshop based on his book, “So You Think You Are Ready to Retire?”. We are also planning another Medicare workshop for November. Those details to come soon.

Save the Date: Our Annual Houston Asset Management Charity Golf Tournament is scheduled for Friday, November 2nd at BlackHorse Golf Club. Invitations will go out early October. This tournament helps raise scholarship funds for the Houston Asset Management Charitable Foundation. In April, Bob Frater, CFP® attended the 38th Financial Planning Association’s Retreat in Phoenix, AZ. The Retreat is a series of interactive discussions of the latest ideas and trends in the Financial Planning Profession. Also in April, Richard Hollis, MBA® and Rich Welsh, CFP® attended a market update and outlook presentation by Tom Murray, portfolio manager in the JP Morgan International Equity Group.
Houston Asset Management Charitable Foundation has received 60 applicants for the 2018 scholarship.
