Christopher M. Brown, CFP®
Chris focuses his practice on working with retirees and those approaching the retirement transition. He helps his clients determined if they are financially ready for retirement and then assists them in the actual transition into retirement. Chris provides clarity around company pensions options, when to draw Social Security, and how to coordinate distributions from investment accounts for sustainable retirement spending.
Chris's career with Houston Asset Management began in the summer of 1998 as a college intern. After earning a B.S. in Economics with a Business minor from Texas A&M University, Chris returned to Houston Asset Management in September 2003. He has since gone on to complete the University of St. Thomas financial planning program. In January 2014, Chris became a managing partner and President of Houston Asset Management.
Chris became a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ practitioner in 2006. He is a Registered Representative with SagePoint Financial, Inc., a registered broker/dealer firm, member of FINRA/SIPC Chris also carries his life, accident, health, and HMO insurance license and offers fixed and traditional insurance through Investment Marketing Resources, LP, not affiliated with SagePoint Financial, Inc. Chris is currently a member of the Financial Planning Association and the Financial Services Institute.
Chris and his wife Adrienne reside in Sugar Land and are the proud parents of son Peyton. When not fulfilling the needs of clients, Chris volunteers his time as a guide/mentor for Operation Orphan Hunt. Chris and Adrienne are members of Sugar Creek Baptist Church.
